Lee Myles Transmissions & Auto Care of Roslyn, New York has been serving the local community since the late 1960’s with expert transmission repairs, rebuilds and replacements. Owner and operator, Dave Unger, has been an automobile technician and diagnostician since 1974, that is nearly 50 years with extensive training and experience in all phases of automobile repair. Dave Unger has enjoyed building a successful business in the automotive industry with Lee Myles starting his career as a technician and manager working for various new car dealerships in their service departments throughout Long Island. When he is not at his center serving his customers with second to none customer satisfaction, he enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren and playing softball. What are the Signs that I have a Transmission problem?

Common symptoms are

Fluid leaks

What is wrong with my transmission?

Common causes of transmission problems are:

Low fluid levels
Contaminated fluids
Malfunctioning solenoids, sensors or computer software bugs

BUT the only way to identify the cause is for a trained transmission technician to inspect the vehicle.

How much will my transmission cost?

The cost is totally dependent on the needed repair and the make and model of transmission. Once your vehicle is inspected by one of our transmission technicians we will be able to establish the cause of the problem and provide you with an accurate estimate. Many problems only require a simple service like a fluid and filter change which may run between $150 to $300 range. Note; major repairs like replacing a transmission with a remanufactured one will cost substantially more.

How long will it take?
Fluid changes are usually on a few hours whilst major repairs may take 3 to 5 days dependent on parts availability.
If needed we can assist with car rentals and possibly a loaner car if one is available.
